June 27-28 - Tahoe, San Francisco, Muir Woods, COAST TO COAST!!

The road from Reno was just as desolate as the road to it, so Lake Tahoe was a welcome sight on the horizon as we arrived in the late afternoon. We stopped in for a quick lunch, and then got back on the road to San Francisco.  The scenery was beautiful, but we had to press on.

We checked in to a “hostel” that was more appropriately described as a dilapidated building at the end of a dark alley.

That night, we tried some delicious dungeness crabs at Aliotos on the bay and checked out the city's Fisherman's wharf area.

The next morning we gawked at sea creatures at the San Francisco Bay Aquarium and tried some Clam Chowder in Boudin’s sour dough bread bowls. That afternoon we drove over the Golden Gate bridge and took in the scenery at Muir beach and Muir woods where we saw California’s famous coastal Redwoods.

Our crowning achievement of the west coast visited occurred at Muir Beach:

WE REACHED THE WEST COAST

With the Accord looking out on the water and our feet in the Pacific, we were ready to move on to begin the slow and foggy journey down the coast.
